Maryland Looks to Boost Farm Vehicle Weights

Jan 16, 2025 at 03:36 PM CST

Maryland farmers are asking the state to increase vehicle weights for transporting ag products to market.

A bill backed by the state ag and transportation departments would increase the gross weight of five-axle vehicles from 87,000 to 88,000 pounds and set the six-axle limit at 95,000 pounds.

The weight increase would bring Maryland in line with Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
