Bunge-SCF Grain LLC, a joint venture between Bunge North America and SCF Agri/Fuels LLC, said Thursday it has signed a long-term agreement to lease the Soylutions LLC grain elevator in McLeansboro, Ill. The facility, about two hours southeast of St. Louis, is a 90-car CSXT Express train loader with a storage capacity of more than 4 million bushels. It can handle corn, soybeans and wheat. Terms of the lease weren't disclosed. Five employees at the grain elevator are transferring to Bunge-SCF Grain. "The facility's strategic location will enable us to efficiently serve the poultry markets as well as Bunge's soybean processing plant in Decatur, Ala.," said Bailey Ragan, vice president and general manager of Bunge Grain, in a statement. "We will also be able to provide our producer customers with access to export markets through the Port of Brunswick, Ga." The McLeansboro elevator is the second facility to be operated by the Bunge-SCF joint venture. The venture also is building a river grain terminal in Fairmont City, Ill., in Metro East that's expected to be completed next spring.
