What is the deal with not willing to load a hopper after certain loads?

Did the inside of the tarp get cleaned? Are all top rails and end caps washed? Tarp bows cleaned on all sides? Or did that minimum wage washer call it in? On the tanker side of things there are Kosher standards for maintaining a certain tempurture within the tank to kill bacteria and wash locations need to maintain certifications. Until there is a standardized hopper wash process can you blame some customers for not wanting to have the trailer reloaded? Especially with biosecutrity issues being what they are across the hopper industry, and with some products being for human consumtion.

Due to the lack of standardization when it comes to "washing out" a hopper it is easy to see why. Did the inside of the tarp get cleaned? Are all top rails and end caps washed? Tarp bows cleaned on all sides? Or did that minimum wage washer call it in?

On the tanker side of things there are Kosher standards for maintaining a certain tempurture within the tank to kill bacteria and wash locations need to maintain certifications. Until there is a standardized hopper wash process can you blame some customers for not wanting to have the trailer reloaded? Especially with biosecutrity issues being what they are across the hopper industry, and with some products being for human consumtion.

Somethings are just not worth the liability of saying X previous load is okay with a washout because of the above can of worms vs just saying no. That also doesn’t touch on companies that just say they washout but never did.

First define washed out.

The garden hose on the outside of the unloading/loading facility?

You known a guy with a mobile washer but no detergent.

A self-service washout but the driver was running late and maybe missed a few spots.

A full-service washout but the driver selected the low price option.

A full-service washout but was it at the correct temp to kill bacteria?

Did the operator at the full-service actually wash the trailer? Did they wash the trailer straps and hard to reach areas?

What is the alphabet soup agencies regulations for X product in relation to the Y product for what market on cross contamination?

Somethings are just not worth the liability of saying X previous load is okay with a washout because of the above can of worms vs just saying no.
