I know this isn't the first time this has been asked, why do we as the carrier have to pay for a washout when it's the shippers product that requires it and they won't reimburse us for it? It's bs!

Paying is one thing. An available washout isn't on every corner. Only wash out we could find in las vegas was $200

If you are leased on it is their responsibility . If you get your own loads from brokers, you will be paying for them most likely. Im employee now and i pay for wash and fuel sometimes but get paid back. As O/P getting own loads , i paid for them most of the time.

Just print yourself out a ticket. Joe Blows trucking or whatever. Charge the going rate in your area on it. I printed them out with my company name when i washed my trailer at home. " certified washout " simply means a business did it. Too many drivers claimed to washout at RV self wash etc. Then contaminated mixed product resulted. This is why it must have company on receipt.

Keep in mind that if you wash it out your self and print a ticket under your company name, it best be clean. You certified it. You are responsible if it is cross contaminated and will have to psy for the load
