Hello- Was looking for Feedback for someone who has or has had a TWIC card. Did you see a higher rate fee due to needing TWIC card? Was there more wait times at ports? What did you see has the positives and negatives? Thanks for an insight you have acquired. |

The card will get you in and out of ports faster and you won't need an escort.

Zero change on the rates. It will provide you with some loads that otherwise wouldn't be available to you. Best example I would have, we've hauled lumber out of some ports in Florida back to Indiana that woudn't have been possible without a TWIC card. |

TWIC card is easy to get if you are located next to a busniess that offers the service. I believe mine was only about 60 bucks and took 5 minutes. I have not seen much on the hopper side that had required a TWIC card. I utilize mine for the TSA pretrip. |

Twic card gets you in and out of military bases and ports less wait time for clearance. No escort needed. It's just si rhe government knows who is accessing sensitive areas

Its another notch on your belt. Be all you can be even if you do not think you will ever need it. |

I have had a TWIC card since I earned my CDL. Its is a credential that has given me access to more opportunities. Its worth it. Plus it can help on the Pre-TSA @ the airport. |

Definitely get it. It's $124 now and you never know when you may need it. I just picked up a new account and we needed TWIC. I had to have one of our guys escort the others who did not have it into the facilties until everyone had a chance to get theirs. Its a 10 minute in person appt and it shows up 1-2 weeks later. Rates don't change, but when you need it, you need it. It is not just ports, but also oil refineries and other areas at high risk of terrorism or security concerns. |

The TWIC card will help at Ports and no they dont usally mean any extra money for the loads. Not going to fly at any Milatary Base you will have to have a escort by the Milatray Police and gives you no acess to areas that require a security clearance. Try and tell them you have a Del. for Bldg. #500 at Offut AFB Sac headquarters and you have a TWIC card, They will laugh at you while they throw you off the Base and tell you to never come back. I am a ex veteran with a top secrect security clearance and they dont care that you have a TWIC card. It does for sure help at Ports to get loaded or empty. Have a great day!! |
