truck drivers in florida are protesting at the capital and it seems their main gripe /concern is low rates and the fees and skimming off the top the brokers charge and do..... could this be the beginning of what needs to take place everywhere.... cold it be the beginning of a fight for regulation in the industry ? brokers and shippers especially brokers might want to take notice of this.......

Derregulation of the trucking industry has proven to be a embarrassment to wall street, as well as the government. IT was intended to send a message to truckers, that you are not in charge, as a form of payback for those three trucker strikes that occured, {and almost succeeded}. Well now the chickens have come home to roost, and it's clear who has the power. With most trucking companies having 20 to 30% of their fleet parked, the Driver has all the power in a negotiation. If you listen to road dog on sirius xm you hear professional driver agents begging for your business, wanting to be your agent and handle all of your negotiations for you. So with those kind of market conditions, how much longer will it be before unions start taking over? If your a private company with your own fleet of trucks like wallmart, you are vulnerable to unions more than ever. And FMCSA is making the problem worse, by creating a hostile work enviornment , and driving folks out of the industry. Consider that the head of the department of labor was appointed by obama, and that he is pro union, and cannot be removed because its a lifetime appointment. And consider that the supreme court has now shifted to the left, as well as the rest of the country. Then consider that most of these truck safety groups are calling for hourly pay for drivers, at the same time that the electronic log mandate is going into effect. THIS IS PUTTING THE GOVERNMENT AND WALL STREET in a uncomfortable sittuation. You can only play the derregulation card once, so what will they now?

I guess the way i see it, a protest is not neccasary for stuff to change, all thats required is for everything to keep moving in the current direction, and the outcome is the same. The people that have been putting the boots to us, are about to get theirs, and karma can be a real Bitch, LOL. Ever notice how frusterated some shippers or D.O.T inspectors get, when they get stuck dealing with a driver who cannot speak one word of english? And they need 3hours to back into a loading dock? And then when they use the rest room, they take a crap on the floor, right in front of the sink, rather than use the toilet, because they hate america?

That is the absolute truth. I had a Love's employee tell me that on the average of about twice a week they would have one of those middle easterners come in and crap all over the place and throw his toilet paper on the floor. He said he was told that their "religion" prevented them from using the restroom like a normal human being. I believe this sort of thing is only going to get worse, thanks in part to FMCSA, but more to blame is ATA and their mega carrier crap.
