The bill, according to ATA, would allow a 10% weight tolerance for dry bulk carriers to allow for the shifting of cargo, in vehicles loaded at or below federal weight limits, during transit. The association said this flexibility would increase the efficient movement of dry bulk cargo, including agricultural goods, and would ensure that companies moving those goods are not unfairly penalized due to the shifting weights due to braking and other standard events on our highways.

I wonder how frequently this happens. I did have it happen once years ago. Glutten pellets on a big floor. A pile in the front and a pile in the back. A hard brake at a light in Evansville, IN and I was heavy on the tractor when I got to the KY scale. The rear pile slid forward with nothing to stop it. Easy enough to prevent. 3-4 piles to cover the floor. |

that would be nice if every location offered a level loading space, up here on the farms not so much so we already have that 10% rule with the d.o.t. |
