Does anyone know what all is required for hauling thru Canada? We’re looking at taking a step deck load up to Alaska and I really wanna make sure we know what we’re getting into. I have everything for running interstate in US but no Canadian numbers or anything. Do we need to get that or is USDOT and MC numbers enough? No drops or pickups in Canada, just going through. It would also be going thru Northwest Territories and Yukon. Are those any different than like Saskatchewan or Alberta?

It is very easy and inexpensive to set up. What is not as easy is BC, ON, and QC. As long as you run the area in between, it is no different than running the US as long as you follow the rules. |

It’s not worth jumping through all of the hoops for just 1 trip.

Exactly. If you have some sort of contact with regular weekly loads in and out, then it is worth it. To have it so you can grab spot market freight doesn't seem worth it to me either. But the way the OP was talking, he had specific destinations in mind. |
