Should Bulkloads require the broker or shipper to post their rates.  If a person pays the fee to be part of Bulkloads they should be entitled to see the rate  instead of wasting time looking or calling

how many members on Bulkloads times the yearly rate. = $$$$$$

post rates means no wasted time calling

Hello Greg thank you for posting this I appreciate you bringing this up because we get this question all the time. We recommend brokers and shippers post rates with loads on the board but with a rate posted we have found it to be a race to the bottom with it becoming an auction instead of a negotiation. With the capacity of carriers still being quite high compared to the need you will see this hurt rates. We’d love to continue this conversation and explore solutions together. That’s why we’re inviting shippers, brokers, and carriers to the upcoming Bulk Freight Conference, where we’ll be discussing this very issue. It’s a great opportunity to connect, share concerns, and work toward solutions that benefit the entire community.

Greg, I used to feel this way. But anymore I look at this load board as a way to make connections and track the changing flow of commodities and other bulk materials. Brokers don't post their rates just as we don't post our rates or cost of operating.

This is silly. Not every lane has a predetermined rate, and those that do have some variability in the rate. It is the broker's job to create a price spread- accept that. If they feel it's in their best interest to post a rate, they will. They will not post a rate to enable carrier laziness. At the end of the day, if you're in business and only willing to work with customers who tell you what the rate is, why are you in business? Offering your service at your price is the essence of being in business. If you are not willing to prospect work and negotiate terms, business ownership may not be for you.

Hello All, When i use the board to post a load i always put the rate and product, The correct town that it is loading in and the correct destination. If you have a good rate why not post it? Why do people try and put fake load and unload spots? The answer is most are scared to be honest because there is always some one out there that will try cut your rates and ruin it for everyone!! Also in some cases the rates are so bad why even post the load? The ones that suffer most are the owner operators with all the bad things some of these brokers are doing, Pay fair rates and pay detention and the real amounts that the cuctomers pay for that detention. The ones that can really stop this crazy stuff is the owner operators saying no to the cheap freight!! Have heard several bad stories of trucks going to the new plant in Eden, NC. and the brokers and a trucking company doing these loads have cut the rates and dont pay the FSC. These loads where bid plus FSC so if you are not being showed the FSC going there you are being taken advantage of and also they have a cntract rate for detention there. Just treat people with respect and be honest and we all can survie and have pride in what we do!! God Bless and be safe out there.
